Smile Cookies Are Here !!!!!

(Rainy River District, ON) - The Rainy River District Community Policing Committee (RRDCPC) is pleased to announce the annual Smile Cookie campaign launches on September 15, 2014!  We can all smile a little more than usual this week because 100% of Smile Cookies sales will support RRDCPC youth initiatives.

The RRDCPC is proud to work with schools, families and communities in support of our District youth!  Together our goal is to work with youth to increase external supports and internal strengths needed to grow up safely and successfully.  Our community partnerships strive to build assets and positive qualities that influence a young person's development to help them become caring, responsible and productive adults.  Our programs are intended to build developmental assets.  Research has proven the more assets a youth has the less likely they are to engage in high-risk behaviour.

Our partnership supports many successful project such as
PARTY Program, OPP North West Region Youth Summer Camp, OPP Respect Technology through Common Sense Media, Restorative Practices, Project Safe Halloween, Stuff-A-Cruiser, Celebrating Diversity, Substance Abuse Prevention Team, Family Bike Rides, Helmet Safety and Bike Rodeos, Child Car Seat Clinics, Public Service Announcements, Youth In Policing Initiatives, plus many more!

The RRDCPC is financially administered by the OPP Youth Foundation, a charitable organization.  We are grateful for the support received by Gord McQuarrie and his staff at Tim Hortons for the continued support.  We look forward to an exciting year of continued programming and brand new initiatives!

On November 4th, the Township of Emo in conjunction with the North Western Health Unit is hosting a Family Safety Night.  This is an event that hopes to increase awareness of the various health, safety and community services available in Emo and the Rainy River District.
As a service industry, I would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the Emo Family Safety Night.  It will take place upstairs at the Emo Arena and run from 3:30-6:00 p.m.  Those who participate will have the opportunity to set up a booth where they can give community members information about the services they offer.
Our hope is that this will be a fun and interactive family event, so the more creative you are with your booth, the better!
If you would like to participate, or would like more information please feel free to email or call me at the below phone number.
