DATE: July 29, 2014 RAINY RIVER DISTRICT COMMUNITY POLICING COMMITTEE ~ New Website Launched~ (FORT FRANCES, ON) – The Rainy River District Community Policing Committee (CPC) is pleased to announce the launch of their new website. The website can be found at www.rainyriverdistrictcpc.ca CPC has been in existence within the Rainy River District for well over 20 years and has contributed to the success of many programs including Lock It or Lose It, Project Safe Halloween, Respect Technology Program, Stuff A Cruiser, OPP Kids Program and PARTY Program. The committee consists of community partners, police officers and agencies who work together to promote safety through education and crime prevention strategies. Together, the team strives to deter crime from occurring by supporting our law enforcement personnel in their policing efforts and providing educational opportunities and resources to the public. CPC would like to thank the OPP Youth Foundation for their administrative support. The OPP Youth Foundation is a charitable organization that helps provides the CPC with the appropriate accountability processes which in turn, helps enable the CPC with opportunities to explore funding for initiatives that support youth, families and communities. The new CPC website and Facebook page will provide the public access to more resources, photo galleries and videos, read about CPC programming within the District and links to project partners, showcase successful projects and obtain feedback from our communities while encouraging participation and volunteerism. The CPC is launching this great new resource in conjunction with the August Long Weekend marine enforcement initiatives. The committee is working to support Operation Dry Water! to help reduce alcohol related incidents on our waterways. CPC committee members will be working with local law enforcement to promote marine safety and encouraging members of the public to wear their life jackets!
